In Which Blue Shoves Steampunk Upon You

Many of you probably all ready know, but I'm working on a steampunk story. I've all ready got the world planned out, and have begun working on brief character outlines...
Rayden-
Varying climates, separated into four countries. Alden and Fayor being the major two. Continent reaching 484,768 km squared.
Alden-
Mixture of high-tech cities and farmland. Stretches 224,984 km squared. Most towns are far away from each other. Trains are used to travel from place to place most of the time. Humid, subtropical climates in most places. People are normally very open and loud. Can be seen as rude. Limited trees and forest. Mostly plains and mountains. Home to world's largest military base. Ruled by King Alesander Jones, age 36. Currently at war with Nrodens.
Fayor-
Mountainous and cold, it's a pretty spread out place. Only 138,780 km squared. Towns are normally small, very few cities. Usually a good few miles apart. Main economic income is from outsourcing weapons. People are normally quiet and shy. Keeping to themselves. Known for having a few large forests. Has no Monarchy, a democracy each quadrant having one representative to speak their opinion, with a fifth voted into office to break tie-breakers. Neutral in wars.
Trilance-
Colder climates. Made up of seven countries. Gredlen, Yvelson, Dwellvin being three major ones. 616,547 km squared.
Gredlen-
Connected to Trilance by only a small strip of land and a few bridges. Known for it's naval army and has a large fishing industry. Is 110,092 km squared. Lands are usually marsh-like, and it is normally very wet and rainy there. Rather polite people live there, ones who respect kindness above all else. Ruled by Queen Eliza Tearview, age 67. Siding with Alden.
Yvelson-
Filled with forests, and home to the Elder Wood trees, huge trees that are often used as houses. Wood being a major export for the country. 98,976 km squared. Cold winters with warm summers. Ruled by a democracy, land army mainly, using the trees as cover. The people there are usually rather cold to newcomers, warming up soon enough. Usually covered in a thin layer of snow. Current Minister is, Janec Wunden, age 34. Siding with Alden.
Dwellvin-
Very cold, and north of Gredlen and Yvelson. Flat plains with a few forests, almost always covered in snow. Very industrialized and exports much weaponry and machinery. It's 117,546 km squared, with many large cities taking up it's land. Many built around a factory for weapons or planes. Filled with kind but quiet people. Is a socialistic country with a democracy. Currently lead by President Allheil Fumon, age 78.
Nrodens-
Large continent and country. Reaching 230,988 km squared, is the largest country in the world. It's purely mountains that are covered with snow year round. The highest temperatures they reach being 10 degrees Celsius on a hot day. The people there are rather cold and rude to others. In the center of the country is a large valley where their capital (and largest city) is. Including their castle. Where the youngest emperor, Emperor Galkord Rgek, only 12, rules. At war with Alden.
Sulu-
Not so much a continent as it is a region. It is an area densely concentrated with islands in the south. The collective size of the islands reaching, 187,735. The two biggest islands being Jjton, and Rilugi. Area is very humid and warm in most places. A more tribal and less industrialized region.
Jjton-
A desert island that's sweltering hot the further you go from shore. Most of the people live on the shore of the island, comfortably in huts. The island reaching
54,067 km squared. They're ruled by, Emperor Yrrjen. A man with seven wives. The diamonds and precious stones that come from their islands are what they use in trade to the other countries. Side with Nrodens.
Rilugi-
An island filled with tropical trees and a thick rainforest. Allowing their tribes to live more comfortably than some. The island stretching to only 34,926 km squared. It's somewhat ruled by an oligarchy. Three of their most powerful tribes/families rule together and meet and discuss things. They do trade with other countries shipping out their exotic fruits and vegetation. Neutral in the war.
