Brothers
You know whats really fucking weird? I really love spending time with Adam - David's older brother. He is similar to David yet the ways in which he is different really make him a fun person to hang around. He is really down to earth, which is really quite a nice contrast to David. Dont get me wrong - I like David, but after everything I had to reassess. He *is* the spiritual guy he claims to be, but he hasnt made it all the way there yet and he still doesnt know how to handle a friendship with a girl - which is really quite immature - strange contrast there if you ask me. David talks a lot about himself and about his personal development, which really is a bit of a joke - because seriously - who actually TALKS about that sort of stuff? I dont run around saying - hey guys these are the areas that im working on to improve myself and this is how its going blah blah - and really no one should. If you wanna change, go.do it. dont chat about it.
Adam ragged on David for a bit today when we caught up, and honestly, I was in hysterics. Its so true. Classic. Adam wondered why David and I hung out so much seeing as I was in hysterics about him. I think David is an alright guy, which is why we did catch up, and which is why we may catch up in the future. Presumably even if I didnt actively try to catch up with David I would see him anyway because I am interested in persuing the friendship* that I seem to be developing with Adam.
Adam is teaching** me dj-ing - so when we catch up we dont get heaps of talking time, but when we do talk its always interesting. We talk when he drives me home and in between tracks and when taking breaks from learning. He really cracks me up and I really appreciate how down to earth he is. Id love to catch up with him -outside- of the dj-ing mindset just to see how long we could actually keep up a conversation!! Cos when we have caught up, its been for a goal of learning. But if we just hung out.. I just wonder what would actually happen (endless silence mayhap??).
It will be interesting to see what happens when David comes back! Presumably at some point I'll be over seeing one of them and the other will be around - awkward or not?? Not too sure. I would like to be able to get along with both if at all possible.
Anyway. Main point was, I think Adam is a good guy prima facie (which means -on the face/first appearance). I dont to make the same mistake that I did with David and jump to conclusions. I get that Adam and David are alike in the sense that they both think they are sorta.. a pretty good catch? They both sorta.. feel like they have the attitude that they could get anyone? Not too sure how true that is... but anyway.. both have a lot of confidence with the ladies anyway. But at the same time, I would like to hope that because Adam is older than David that he is more mature and can handle having a friendship with a girl. And the fact that he is much more realistic and down to earth and stuff... I dono. But at the moment, I like spending time with Adam.
Edit : Also, seeing as I learnt the hard way with David of how not to act around single guys.. It should all be good anyways! I know exactly what not to do/say so yer should be much better in that aspect.
Shall see how it all works out I guess.
*not sure if its quite at the -friendship- stage but I would like it to be. We catch up every now and then and we seem to get along, but he makes some strange remarks (something about not liking me?!) which makes me wonder if he is just -pretending- to be my friend..
