days speed bye. i catch blurs of color, scents and sounds that disappear before i can identify them, track them back to the source. i plan, but those plans are obsolete before i make the phone call. so i ride this time stream with no idea where it goes, maybe nowhere, maybe back to the beginning to catch the episodes i missed in prime time. who would have thought my salvation would be cold-war technology? we can't be more than two or three baby steps from self-assembly. already, simple combinations line up for testing. the engineers still say that self-qualification is too aggressive for round one. i think i know a shortcut...
