"overwhelm" is bit redundant, no?

One reason why I've really enjoyed my Italian language classes is because they're taught by native speakers. The French department has all kinds of people teaching their classes, so I had grad students as well as native Frenchmen as teachers (although, as I learned on one occassion, just because they're French doesn't mean they can teach it). But the best things about the Italian profs I've had? They're all so stylish, and happy. They fit the stereotype of Italian women that I have in my mind. That sounded kind of terrible.

The Departed opened around this time last year, meaning I'm once again geared up for the three-ish-month long (Oscar hopefuls) movie fest. Even though many people made their lists ages ago, I've finally made a list of the ones I'm interested in seeing, but whether or not I'll actually shell out the cash for them is another thing.

Elizabeth: the Golden Age (10/12)
Dan in Real Life (10/26)
American Gangster (11/2)
The Kite Runner (11/2)
Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium (11/16)
August Rush (11/21)
I'm Not There (11/23)
Atonement (12/7)
Walk Hard (12/21)
Sweeney Todd: the Demon Barber of Fleet Street (12/21)
Charlie Wilson's War (12/25)

Not as many as I would have hoped. Off the top of my head I can't remember how this compares to last year's list.
