splenda

I never thought this day would come, especially a week ago when I was over my head in pages upon pages of papers, readings, and the imminent finals. But a week later, and with a little less sanity, IT'S OVER! And I'm HOME! And Disneyland has a NEW ATTRACTION! YIPPEE...!!

One full term to go (not counting summer terms) and I will be done with college. It's all kinds of exciting for me. And while it might have been great to graduate at the same time as my friends, being a part of the 2007 class would just be cool.

My school's study abroad program notified me a couple days ago telling me I have been accepted into the program with a few contingencies including, but not limited to: acceptance from the University of Bordeaux and a monthly report on the social/political/economic state of France. Even though I know it's in my best interest to go, I've been feeling pretty "meh" about this since I turned in my application a month ago. The fact that there is still half a year of school to go after I've already finished as well as preliminary homework makes me even less enthusiastic about the whole situation. And while I'll do what they ask, I'm not feeling too sorry about the prospect of rejection from Bordeaux.

But the most important thing of all:

Who's excited about Tuesday? I am. The amount of White Stripes goodness going around is unbelievable. I wish there would be this amount of stuff going on whenever The Strokes released a new album. There's some pretty exciting stuff going on in Hollywood this coming week, and even if I can't be a part of it, I'll definately be checking it out.

Also exciting? A score of movies including Ratatouille. Even if I'm not over enthusiastic about Bordeaux, I think this still is amazing.

One of the greatest pleasures in life: having a friend cook for you, and doing an Office marathon on his HDTV.

I have one week before summer school starts, and it's going to be PHENOMENAL.

the white stripes, life, ucsb
