Wondering if someone on this comm would be kind enough to help me figure out some things about the Barsburg military and the Black Hawks for a bit of fanfic that I'm thinking of writing. The manga is a bit confusing and currently I have no access to it.

I think I need to go re-read chapter 25 again, lol what a good excuse.

I wonder though about the warsfeil, since everyone else just decides to kill them first and ask questions later. I remember the way the church did it is to seal Frau(when they suspected him of being a warsfeil) down in that cell underwater. (Prompting Teito to have to swim to rescue him).

That's really rough. No wonder the Black Hawks are so ruthless. Also explains why they'd be pretty tightly bonded unit, since everyone else is after them.

But Konatsu wanted to be a warsfeil. He was actually disappointed that he wasn't one, when his father told him to go join the Black Hawks to restore some standing in the family. So maybe in some families for the empire, it isn't that bad a thing?

Yep yep. Also explains that despite Aya's group having high ranks, the other generals are always so eager to try to call for him to be punished. (Like over the incident of his ships flying over the 7th district and crashing). If he hadn't produced the Eye of Michael at that point, they'd have got him.

Also they like to send him off on long campaigns to cold wintery kingdoms (Antwort) to fight. But I love how Ayanami shows them how kickass the Black Hawks are.

It doesn't seem that there are very many warsfeil though. Probably like an endangered species, really.

Guess the Black Hawks are seen only as weapons to be pulled out as a last resort, but the top brass don't like them. But I think they wouldn't have managed to conquer Raggs so easily if Ayanami hadn't been there. (I don't remember if Hyuuga or any of the other Hawks were there at that scene where Fra Kreuz got done in.)
