The grass was soft under his fingertips, ticklish against his palms. He laid there wondering how things got to be this bad. How the world was slowly beginning to end right before his eyes and there was nothing he could do to stop it. Slowly the corners of his mouth upturned into a smile and he closed his eyes. The breeze ghosted across his skin, reminding him to breathe and suddenly the memories rushed in like wildfire, his smile growing bigger.
Another gentle breeze touched his cheek and when Eric opened his eyes he could see his face. He could finally see his Hyesung again. That familiar laugh rang through his ears and he reached out as Hyesung playfully dodged his advances. Eric grinned wide, flashing pearly whites and more laughter echoed through the air. A gentle press of lips and Eric felt like he was raised from perdition. He could hear the familiar pleads from Andy and the devilish giggles from Junjin and Dongwan, Minwoo still probing and tickling the youngest's sides, pecking his cheek like there was no tomorrow as the latter squirmed beneath him.
Everything was so clear, so real and perfect. Eric wouldn't have it any other way.
As Eric's eyes moved back to his beloved, the breath caught in his throat and his eyes grew wide. He let out a strangled cry as Hyesung was torn from his arms, the smaller man gripping his hands tight as he cried out for him. Hyesung pleaded as he reached forward, face bloody and tear stained. His clothes were ripped and torn and Eric reached out for him too. He reached for him until four pairs of strong arms wrapped around him and pulled him away. Pulled him away from his Hyesung.
Eric's sight was blurred and he screamed and clawed and tried to save him but it was no use. He kept his arms and hands outstretched as he cried and cried. Watching as those things tore the love of his life to pieces. His heart shattering into millions of pieces never to be healed again.
And suddenly what was once green faded to black and Eric opened his eyes, stray tears sliding down his skin as he smiled bitterly before closing his eyes again.
