Golden Globes 2012

*cleans away dust, takes down cobwebs and lets in some fresh air*

Golden Globes's time, dear readers. Lets hope this post fares better than last year's Oscars' post *shudder*

We still have 2 hours to go, but let's have a look at the nominations. As always, sadly, many movies and series that haven't made it to Europe yet (not that that deters your dedicated poster, when it comes to series) or haven't come to my attention yet.

What TV series are concerned, I would like American Horror Story to win a few awards. A surprisingly good series with some very good performances. Breaking Bad and Boardwalk Empire could win some as well.
Apparently Modern Family is a very good series as well. It's on my to-watch list (together with Downtown Abbey ...Maggie Smith <3), but I haven't formed an opinion yet.

Ricky Gervais is presenting again.... Ah well, we can't have everything, ladies and gentlemen and even your trusted correspondent needs potty breaks ;)

Ok...back in 2 hours I guess. See you then.

And here we go.

Well...Ricky Gervais making jokes about his penis and Jody Foster's "beaver"... Ah well, we'll let him finish and concentrate on the good parts later on.

[... ok, we had some technical problems, but now my TV is back]
Kate Winslet just received the award for something or other. (Best Performance by an Actress in a mini-series or MOtion Picture made for TV as it turned out)

Ok, onwards :)

Best Actor TV Series Drama
Let's see...Breaking Bad or Boardwalk Empire??
eeemm  Kelsey Grammer - Boss -- Nothing I have ever heard of I must admit.

Best TV Series Drama
American Horror Story would be good here...since I've watched that XD
No, it goes to Homeland. Another series I haven't watched.

Antonio Banderas should stop cropping his hair that short. He looks like a centurion from ancient Rome. You can do better, Antonio.

Best Original Score - Motion Picture
Ludovic Bource - The Artist  That is a movie I do want to watch.

Lol...awsome explanation as he gets out his notes "Sorry, I'm French XD"

Best Original Song - Motion Picture
Glen Close writes lyrics? Who knew...
"Masterpiece" - W.E.
Madonna just won a Golden Globe and apparently doesn't know what to say except "Eeem".
I don't want to gossip, but her arms do look awful.

Hmm...weirdly timed break for commercials by German TV, so we might miss the next award. I mean, why not? I'm not sitting here at 2:53 am to watch the Golden Globes live. Nooo, why should I? Commercials are fine. Aaargh, this gets on my nerves. Very much!!

And we are back, but we don't really know what we missed.

Best Performance by an Actor in a mini-series or Motion Picture made for TV
Idris Elba - Luther
He loos much younger than he does in the TV series.

Mmmm, Brad Pitt. He still looks good and he is tghe only person where that slight lisp is actually very sexy :D
(Presented the Ides of March)

Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Comedy or Musical
Michelle Williams - My week with Marily
Aww, she is really cute :) Makes me want to watch the movie. Hihi, she ad to read all the bedtime stories to her daughter in her Marilyn voice.

Waaah! What the hell are Sara Michelle Gellar and her co-presenter wearing?? And hwo painted Sara orange??

Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Series, Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television
Peter Dinklage - Game of Thrones  Haven't watched it on purpose, because the actors just don't look like I pictured them while reading the books.

George Clooney presents Money Ball. They still make baseball movies? Well I guess Brad Pitt can do anything :)

Best Animated Feature Film
My vote goes to Rango
Nope, The Adventures of Tintin gets it.
Steven Spielberg accepts the award. Well he is so used to getting awards that he knows what to say.

Best Screenplay - Motion Picture
Woody Allen - Midnight in Paris

Best Performane by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television
YES! Jessica Lange - American Horror Story :D Very good! If you haven't watched the series yet and you enjoy a bit of thrill, then go watch it.

Ricky Gervais attempts a few jokes while presenting Madonna. Madonna retaliates with equally lame jokes.

Best Foreign Language Film
A Separation (Iran)

Dustin Hoffman :D presents the nominees for

Best Performance by an Actress in a TV Series - Drama
Clare Danes - Homeland --- Again, haven't watched it yet and don't think I will. Not really my topic.

Bridesmaids...who on earth would go and watch that movie??

Hmm...dresses are rather non-spectacular this evening.

Best Actor in a TV Series - Comedy or Musical
Matt LeBlanc - Episodes

Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture
Octavia Spencer - The Help --- That is a movie I really really want to see.
Mrs Spencer is one of these examples of actresses who came to fame without expecting it. They really try to make their speech mean something.

Ah, the Cecille B. DeMille Award for Morgan Freeman is next.
I like Morgan Freeman. He looks like a geniunly nice person.

Sidney Poitier presents Morgan Freeman with the award. I wonder of he is speaking so slowly because he is trying to be solemn, or because he is starting to get old. I suspect the latter.
Helen Mirren :) I like her. Ricky Gervais...pah! Let her present the next show.
Driving Miss Daisy is still one of the very best pictures Morgan Freeman ever played in.

Well, that was a decent speach. No false modesty and no silly jokes. Just as expected, Mr Freeman.

Ha! Robert Downey Jr. is wearing tails :)

The Artist really looks interesting.

Hmm, Ms Jolie on stage to present
Best Director - Motion Picture
Martin Scorsese - Hugo --- Never even heard of it. Guess that will change over the next weeks.

Angelina Jolie's dress is nice. I like the red slash at the top which sets of the white dress nicely.

Rrrr, Antonio Banderas is speaking Spanish. Although, I have to admit that I find his accent sexier.

Best TV Series - Comedy or Musical
Modern Family
The cast seems to be having fun. Quite a "liberal" interpretation of the Spanish there :D.

Michelle Pfeiffer's dress looks like it doesn't really fit around the waist. It's a bit baggy in the front. Weird.

Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Comedy or Musical

Jean Dujardin - The Artist --- Ok, ok. I'll go watch the movie. I promise!

COLLIN FIRTH! :D
<3 <3 Mr Darcy!!!

Best Actress Motion Picture - Drama
Meryl  Streep - Iron Lady
Pff, Meryl. Do you really need to say "shit" on tv? I thought you were above that.

Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy
The Artist -- who would have thought that a silent movie could cause such a stir.

Oooh, there is Viggo Mortensen in the audicence. Looking good, Looking good :D

Something is seriously wrong with Natalie Portman's dress. I think somebody forgot to take out the coathanger and not it is lodged in her skirt above her butt.

Best Actor in a Motion Picture - Drama
George Clooney - The Descendants

Best Motion Picture -Drama
The Descendants
Harrison Ford cool and simple in his presentation.

And that was that, ladies and gentlemen.
I want to apologise for not having been my usual sparkly self. I somehow did not get into it as much this time.
I'll do better with the Oscars. :)
