Opal PLays Hard

I don't know if I really properly communicate what I mean when I say that Opal plays hard.

What I mean is that she and Serene both weigh between 7-8 pounds most of the time, but Opal can literally throw Serena a few feet across the room, and she does. She will body check Serena so hard she knocks Serena down, while Opal doesn't even rock back. They wrestle very hard, too, grappling and rolling around the room. Fortunately, one of Serena's many talents is the ability to take 20 kicks to the head without much effect. Heh.

One night last year, before Opal's heavy medication, we saw the cats wrestling one night and when Serena jumped backward, Opal rolled from her back, leaped into the air and literally body-checked Serena in mid-air, a foot or so off the ground.

Serena loves this. She tries to get Opal to chase her, she enthusiastically chases Opal, and sometimes she will TRY to get Opal to pounce on her. She is thrilled that Opal is playing hard again.

I have to credit Opal's playfulness and good condition to her diet. I think her nutrition keeps her young. She eats a species-appropriate diet and according to the doctor, her teeth are better than they should be, her urine is "perfect" and her coat "looks amazing." They are always blown away by her health at her age. Serena on the other hand is around 4, and operates very much like a giant kitten. She is lean, sleek, and super-healthy.
