In the wake of the government shutdown, I know the whole economy will take awhile to pick up. So B and I were going to make a donation to a food bank. First, though, I asked my LBM if anyone in our local OTO community was struggling with food. He told me the name of one member who had told him she couldn't afford to buy groceries.
I contacted her and asked if she needed help. She said things have been tight off and on, but that when can get off of work to do it, she goes to the food bank and buys a box of food from them, which she did this week. So, she is okay this week.
We were going to take her some food anyway, because I do feel bad about their family struggling week to week.
However, I also feel weird because I KNOW she makes extravagant financial choices sometimes. And then I feel bad for feeling weird about it.
