WASH ALL THE THINGS

Apr 24, 2011 03:14

We finally got a washer and dryer last week. They were delivered Tuesday and my response has been to WASH ALL THE THINGS. Seriously, I'm washing everything we own. It's great.

They are HE, front-loading, and silver in color. Silver was important because our laundry hookups are in the kitchen and all of our other appliances are stainless. There is no other place to put the laundry stuff without serious remodeling, so we opted for silver w/d instead. Front-loading was important because although the kitchen here is huge, it has very little counter space. The washer and dryer need to be able to go under a counter in the future.

I looooove how clean my clothes are turning out, and I am thrilled to have laundry facilities in the house again.

Winter bedding is being washed and put away for the summer, same with sweaters and winter pyjamas. It's nice to see things orderly. We need to clean out the top closets (our master closet has little mini-closets above it, to the ceiling, which are basically useful only for long-term storage) and put winter clothing/bedding up there. I also plan this week to make curtains for the closets if I have the energy.

Having a house means having a neverending list of things that need doing. But we are getting them done, slooooowly. I know from platypusid that some tasks can take years, one must just keep crossing them off.
