Letter of Distaste

"To Whom It May Concern:

I, as well as many of my family and friends, have been eating Sweetwater’s donuts since we were little, and so it is with regret that I write this letter; nevertheless, I feel that something should be said. For a number of months, on multiple occasions, the Battle Creek Sweetwater’s Donut Mill has provided us with very poor service, and the same is true for others that I’ve spoken with. I have chosen not to include any names or descriptions in this letter because I don’t want to be the cause of trouble for any of your employees. All I want as a customer is pleasant service, and I don’t feel that this is too high an expectation.

Upon entering your store, my friends and I are, more often than not, greeted with rudeness and a condescending tone from one employee in particular. We don’t feel we have done anything to warrant such behavior, and we are happy to comply with anything that is asked of us, but as paying customers, we expect to be treated with kindness and respect. Earlier this year, we promptly received unfriendly service upon entering the store and decided not to come back or purchase any of your products for an extended amount of time. We recently decided to go in, sit down, and have donuts over coffee and conversation despite the past, and this proved to offer us the same unfortunate experience. I have also spoken with others who complain of the same unpleasant treatment from your employees when simply buying donuts over the counter to go, and we feel that everything impolite and discourteous that has been said to us could have just as easily been said with amicable and good-natured words.

Below are the signatures of some who have experienced the aforementioned treatment to some degree. We value your store and the things that it offers to customers, and as customers ourselves, we would like to feel in return that our business is valued; however, there are other places around town that are more appreciative of their customers, and we won’t hesitate to take our business elsewhere if Sweetwater’s continues to provide us with poor service and negative experiences."
