Dream 11

(ooc: This video, go to 18:30)

He's forgotten how disorienting it can be to make the leap out into space, to see only infinity beneath your feet. Even though he's never been prone to vertigo, Setsuna keeps his eyes fixed on the Ptolemaios as he jets towards the opening catapult and a now-familiar shape moves up from the hangars.

The 00 Gundam.

00. A suit containing the solar furnaces of the 0 Gundam and the Exia. Memories flash in his mind - his rescue by the 0 Gundam and of his former MS in combat.

It feels right. This combination of his savior and his Exia... how could the 00 be anything but meant for him? Setsuna has never been one who believes in destiny, but he can't help but feel that this is right.

My Gundam.

He twists in mid-flight, firing the jetpack to slow his approach, angling toward the Gundam's open cockpit - he lets the jetpack fly back into the hangar where it will be recovered, slipping into the pilot's chair (it looks unfamiliar but it seems so perfect). Setsuna knows that in testing the experimental Twin Drive had been a failure, but... it seems ludicrous to think that it wouldn't work. Still, he wonders out loud - to himself, more than anyone, "The Twin Drive... will it work?"

As if to answer his question, Ian Vashti appears on the communication screen, sounding slightly frazzled. "Setsuna, the 00 is still--"

"I'm going to use Trans-Am," Setsuna answers resolutely. It might be a leap of faith, but he has a feeling it will work. It has to work.

He can hear Ian yelling in protest as the eye scanners pass over his face: "That's insane! Setsuna, stop!"

But it's too late - he's already keyed in the command. "Activating Trans-Am!"

The cockpit goes red as the GN Drives' true power surges through the Mobile Suit, buzzing with energy so strong he can sense it. But nothing happens. There is no grand awakening. Has it failed...?

"Two enemy Mobile Suits, approaching rapidly!" Mileina sounds scared.

And then Tieria. "Where's the 00?!"

No. It's going to work. It has to work - there is no other option.

Please... awaken, 00.

The 0 Gundam is here. The Exia is here...

He can see the A-LAWS' new model - the Ahead - at the end of the catapult. It's going to open fire in seconds. It's going to try and destroy him.

Setsuna won't let that happen.

"...and so am I!" He yells out loud, as the Ahead fires.

Suddenly, there is a flash of light, and red begins to give way to green - tremendous amounts of green. The 00's twin GN cones swing forward, literally blowing the energy blast back the way it had come. It's an incredible amount of GN particles the likes of which Setsuna has never seen before, spiraling out of the catapult into the black depths of space.

"00 Gundam, Setsuna F. Seiei - launching!"

The catapult rushes him down the launch ramp, and the new model moves so fast and so fluidly that Setsuna almost has trouble controlling it at first ... almost. He's able to easily slip around the Ahead's fire and destroy it with a single shot - its power is incredible - and though the GN-XIII that engages him tries to prevent his beam attacks, it's no match for him.

This power. It's unbelievable... it's the power of the 00 Gundam.

His Gundam.

*Setsuna lies awake, looking up at the ceiling. It's a happy memory.

...he misses his Gundam.*

look at how much ass i kick, gundam, dream, gn particles ftw, ic, 00 gundam, setsuna
