Vanya's Holiday Gift List 2011
Vanya plans for her holiday gifts way in advance, partly because she worries and partly because she gives gifts to so many people. Each gift she gives this year is accompanied by a handmade card with a photograph she took inside. Each photo was picked out specifically for the recipient and Vanya searched through her hundreds of pictures for the "perfect" photograph for each person. There is also a CD of her playing music (Babs helped her with this project) on both her violin and guitar. The gifts are also all wrapped very carefully with construction paper and ribbons.
The majority of her gifts are handmade (it is a good thing people have taught her how to knit, bake, sew, and draw/paint since she arrived in Camp) though this year she did earn some money as Rex's assistant and she was excited to be able to use it to buy gifts for those people that are harder for her to think of good gifts to make for!
Luffy: Three juggling balls so Luffy can learn how to juggle too, all of the oddly shaped or slightly burnt cookies, and a new pair of mittens (these ones are yellow) she collected for him . He also gets a small, stuffed beetle handmade out of felt since Vanya is sure he lost his other stuffed beetle.
Zoro: A small stuffed tiger handmade out of felt, much like the bird he made Vanya for her birthday and a picture frame made out of popsicle sticks with a picture of her and tiger!Zoro.
Robin: A “World’s Best Mom” mug (which Vanya thinks is an amazingly awesome and creative gift)
Franky: A “World’s Best Dad” mug, magically Franky-sized
Brook: A super long black hand-knit scarf and new violin music she’s been practicing so they can play together.
Ace: A hand-knit red scarf so that he will stop falling asleep in the snow and gingerbread cookies shaped like flames.
Tim: Some sort of awful Christmas sweater that Vanya actually thinks is the most amazing thing ever and will convince Tim to wear. Also a small photo album with lots of pictures she took with the camera he gave her for Christmas last year.
Babs: The tiniest artificial Christmas tree with little felt bats on it to put by her computer and some of the pictures Vanya took on her vacation in Gotham in popsicle-stick picture frames.
Cass: A rather simple black teapot and some teabags and a promise to teach Cass how to make tea on her own.
Robin: A few of the postcards she got in Gotham last vacation and a tiny felt bat and robin ornament she made.
Kid Flash: Tiny felt lightning bolt ornaments, gingerbread cookies, and a small shoebox she painted red and yellow for Wally to fill with Camp souvenirs since Robin told her that Wally liked souvenirs- she’s already put some dried leaves, photographs, and
Miss Martian: All of the dessert recipes Vanya knows written out on notecards with little drawings of what the desserts look like.
Artemis: A green friendship bracelet and gingerbread cookies shaped like stars.
Superboy: A red and black friendship bracelet and lots of cookies, both gingerbread and sugar cookies, and peppermint ice cream.
Aqualad: A blue friendship bracelet and sugar cookies shaped like fish. Vanya felt bad that she couldn’t make him any of the desserts he made from his world, but thought the fish would at least look cute.
Red Arrow: A red and black striped hand-knit scarf and peppermint ice cream.
Supergirl: A hand-made stuffed cat that looks like her cat and gingerbread cookies.
Professor Xavier: One half of the pieces of a chess set Vanya made from clay and painted black, in a small hand-sewn black bag.
Magneto: The other half of the pieces of a chess set Vanya made from clay and painted silver, in small hand-sewn grey bag. Also the chess board that goes with the chess set, so that he and Professor Xavier have to play chess together again.
Cessily: A red and white friendship bracelet and a hand-knitted red scarf! Also peppermint ice cream because Vanya is oblivious at times.
Julian: A pair of black mittens. There is no card or note of any sort and they are just left in front of the mutant cabin. They are also the same mittens she tried to give him during Thanksgiving, but she’s hoping he’ll actually accept them this time.
Jubilee: Nail polish in lots of bright and fun colors because Vanya was really excited to actually be able to buy Jubilee a gift like the one she usually gives Vanya for once! And strawberry ice cream and sugar cookies with sprinkles.
Rogue: Tiny Halloween-esque ornaments made out of felt, including bats, a coffin and pumpkins since Vanya knows Rogue likes Halloween more than Christmas.
Kurt: All of the holiday desserts she made, including sugar cookies, peppermint ice cream and gingerbread cookies. Also, a bunch of pictures of the Santa’s Workshop he made in popsicle-stick picture frames.
Molly: A pink and purple friendship bracelet and a matching hand-knit scarf. And sugar cookies with sprinkles and peppermint ice cream.
The Entire Mutant Cabin: Several containers of peppermint ice cream and gingerbread cookies.
Breeze: A hand-made stuffed animal that looks like Scourge, peppermint ice cream, and a promise to bring her back something cool from vacation.
Jack: A tiny felt ornament that looks like a computer, a gray and blue friendship bracelet, and specially made Neapolitan ice cream.
Mindy: One of the cameras that Vanya found- it is a small, pink digital camera- that Vanya saved just to give to her and one of these journals with most of it already filled up with pictures and accompanying captions that Vanya’s taken since Mindy’s been in Camp. And peppermint ice cream.
Steve: A black friendship bracelet and peppermint ice cream. And a thank you for helping with the snow obstacle course.
Tavros: An orange and black friendship bracelet, a drawing of the Lost Trolls and Kids of Camp Club (and a promise to one day take the actual picture!) and peppermint ice cream.
Nana: A hand-made pink stuffed cat, a small pink photo album with lots of photos in it, peppermint ice cream (with a warning not to eat it too fast this time) and sugar cookies with sprinkles.
Eles: Holiday songs for the piano written out that she also knows and a red and blue friendship bracelet. And some little felt ornaments shaped like music notes.
CROW: A handmade knitted yellow scarf and sugar cookies shaped like snowmen and a promise to have a snowball fight really soon!
Rainbow Dash: A rainbow friendship bracelet, peppermint ice cream, and gingerbread cookies shaped like ponies to share with her pony friends.
Niche: Sugar cookies shaped like the Sun with yellow frosting and sprinkles
Chibi: A hand-knit red scarf and so many cookies! He doesn’t get a CD, but Vanya still gave him a card with his picture in it.
Rex: A stocking with his name on it (given on Christmas Eve), an orange and blue friendship bracelet, and peppermint ice cream . Also one of
one of these journals with the first few pages already filled with pictures Vanya has taken since Rex has been in Camp.
Ben: A green and white friendship bracelet and gingerbread cookies. There is no picture or CD in the card because Vanya wasn’t sure if he’d want them.
Ronan: A few bookmarks made from dried leaves, a black hand-knit scarf, and very small painting of the ocean that she made. There is also a letter apologizing for not thinking of a good gift for him even though he gave her a perfect gift last year and stating that she still has money left over to buy him something good if he’ll help her think of something, but until then she hopes her gifts were good enough.
Jaime: One of these journals for writing sciencey stuff in, a blue friendship bracelet, and peppermint ice cream.
Carmela: A white and purple friendship bracelet, chocolate ice cream, and a bookmark made from dried leaves.
Necoco: A handknit purple and blue scarf and matching friendship bracelet and a postcard she got in Gotham last vacation. Also treats for Netta.
Machika: A handmade stuffed kitten that looks like Zol, a yellow friendship bracelet, and peppermint ice cream and sugar cookies to share with Rain.
Yui: A yellow and pink friendship bracelet, peppermint ice cream, and sugar cookies with sprinkles. Also, Vanya wrote out some of the songs Nana has taught her how to play on her guitar, so Yui could learn them too.
Dio: A blue and white braided friendship bracelet and one of the digital cameras she found and peppermint ice cream!
Maka: Bookmarks made from dried leaves and written instructions on how to make more! Also, gingerbread cookies.
Momiji: Little felt rabbit ornaments (one for each of the rabbits he adopted) and peppermint ice cream.
Demyx: Some of the guitar music Nana’s given her written out with the hope of him being able to play it on a sitar, gingerbread cookies, and a drawing of him being an awesome rock star in a popsicle-stick frame.
Raidou: A stuffed tiger that Vanya found that reminded her of Gdon, bookmarks made from dried leaves, and gingerbread cookies shaped like the demons she’s been told about. Also, enough peppermint ice cream to share with everyone in his cabin.
Mayumi: A purple and white friendship bracelet and gingerbread cookies.
Devit: A pretty simple silver bracelet with an otter charm on it (this is what happens when Vanya has money and you suggest she get you something to wear)
Shuri: Little felt glittery snowflake ornaments and peppermint ice cream.
Rachel: A trophy! made out of corn stalks, much like the crown she made Nico Robin one time and given because Vanya thinks Rachel is such an awesome singer. And gingerbread cookies shaped like stars.
Jesse: The CD in the card is Vanya’s main gift to Jesse though she ended up giving them to most people, but she also made him sugar cookies shaped like music notes.
Kurt and Blaine: Cookies and peppermint ice cream dropped off at whatever cabin they are hiding in all month.
Genta: A drawing of his Origami along with Arpeggio (the bird he made her) and more felt ornaments to decorate his sushi cart with!
Takeru: A promise to take him sledding this winter because she wants him to have more fun and one of these journals so he can write down serious things. A
Kaoru: A small photo album with pictures Vanya has taken over the last year, many featuring Genta and Takeru, with room to add more and vanilla ice cream
Eiri: Much like last year, one of these journals and a strawberry cake. But this year, he gets five containers of strawberry ice cream and five containers of peppermint ice cream since he liked it at her party. She also gave him an extra CD of some of the music she’s already recorded with the electric violin he gave her.
Satoshi: Her first attempt at a chocolate cake with really festive frosting designs all over it and peppermint ice cream in case it tastes horrible.
Nana: Peppermint ice cream, a strawberry cake and a black friendship bracelet. Also a few more CDs Vanya recorded of herself playing the guitar- mostly songs that Vanya didn’t think were good enough for other people to hear and she hopes it will convince Nana to help her with them.
Rico: A DVD of all of the videos Vanya has taken of Camp over the last year since she’s had her digital camera (note: this is another project Babs helped with!) to add to the Video Rama. And treats for Bailey.
Cindy: A white and blue friendship bracelet with small glass beads added to it, peppermint ice cream, and gingerbread cookies shaped like shoes.
Peter: A small, handmade stuffed white rabbit since magicians need rabbits and blanket forts need stuffed animals. Also gingerbread cookies to take back and share with the Lincolns.
Hanbei: A hand-knit blue scarf so he doesn’t get sick if he decides to play in the snow and sugar cookies.
Chigusa: A drawing Vanya did of lots of flowers and plants that she hopes sort of looks like a garden he would like, peppermint ice cream, and gingerbread cookies.
Chitose: A handmade stuffed rabbit that looks a lot like Chitose does when he’s a bunny and strawberry ice cream.
Mayuko: TONS of bookmarks made from dried leaves, though still not nearly enough for the whole library, and peppermint ice cream.
Leto: One of these journals (it is Vanya’s default smart person I have no idea what to give them gift!) and all of her ice cream recipes written out on little notecards.
Doctor Ishida: Photos of the hospital that Vanya took in popsicle-stick frames to hang in his office and gingerbread cookies.
Garrus: A Santa hat, made from many Santa hats so that it will actually fit!
Legion: One of these journals with the first few pages being filled out with her explanation of friendship since she was having trouble explaining it to him before. It is rather long and convoluted and likely very confusing.
I'd love to thread any of these out, so let me know if you want to! I'll be putting up a post in her journal later tonight for such threads to save community posts from Vanya gift-giving spam! Also, It is HIGHLY likely that I left someone out and please tell me if I did, because Vanya definitely wouldn't and I want to make sure she doesn't!
